When is Spotting Useful:
Gain knowledge, understanding, and “feel” for how to do the skill
Reduce risk of injury
Ensure proper technique and body positioning
Identify important changes in the body position or transitions
Reminders or cues to the athlete
Physically assisting the performance of the whole (or part) of a skill or series
Motivation
As a “safety spot” – ready to assist if necessary.

Be Smart bout spotting. Don’t spot a child on a skill if it’s something you can’t control, lift or manipulate. Safety is ALWAYS number ONE!
