Repetition and Routine is Key:

Think back to when you learned to ride a bike, drive a car or play a new sport. First, you needed to learn the essential skills. Then it was all about practice and more practice until you increased your confidence, improved your speed and became skilled.

I’m amazed that 3 year olds can do the same thing over and over and over again and never get bored. But to them, this is brand new stuff they haven’t mastered yet! Give them the opportunities to do their favorite skill a million times. Once they feel they have mastered it they will be okay moving onto something new.

Repetition is key for anyone learning a new sport, a new language, or a new skill. Some things can be learned quickly and don’t require a lot of repetition and some require tons of reps. Welcome to life!
